Where to start? However much we try to explain that the cat is a, well, cat and therefore not her sister, she will not believe us. Jet (the cat) is quite put out given that he is actually male and should, by all rights, be a brother if anything!

:-)

What was that film?

<trackback:ping>http://www.mattlittle.co.uk/services/trackbacks/1343.aspx</trackback:ping>

We took Rebecca to see Surf's Up at the cinema yesterday. It was her first cinema outing since Claire took her to "Mum & Toddler Cinema" when she was just a few months old.

I was interested to see how she would cope with being in a cinema for 90 minutes. It went fairly well - she got bored half way through and no amount of coaxing would apparently convince her that she didn't want to go home, but then on the way out of the door she saw the poster for the movie complete with penguins and decided that she wanted to see the penguins again!

Popcorn - Rebecca couldn't work out what to make of it. She loved the sweet taste and really enjoyed eating it, but then decided that she hated it because of the bits. And then decided 10 minutes later, that she loved it because of the taste, but then decided that she hated it because of the bits. And then decided 10 minutes later, that she loved it because of the taste, but then decided that she hated it because of the bits.

You get the idea.

So here is my question - I am sure that I have seen a film in which a young kid shows his moves on the waves, but gets knocked back in the first competition that he enters. A wizened, old guru teaches him that cutting the waves is fine and winning is fine, but it is not the most important thing, etc, etc. This was the plot of Surf's Up too, but what was that other film?

I'm stumped, help me out!

Rebecca Racing Driver

<trackback:ping>http://www.mattlittle.co.uk/services/trackbacks/1321.aspx</trackback:ping>

It is good to see that Rebecca is following in her Daddy's "accidents in wheeled vehicles whilst young" footsteps.

When I was young, I learnt to ride on the left-hand two wheels of my tri-cycle. It was so cool until I rode along a low stone wall and sliced my forehead open!

Yesterday, Rebecca followed in the Evel Knieval-esque trait and proved that you can drive one of these at such speed as to roll it in the corner and she broke her finger in the process! Ouch.

Many thanks, as aways, to the excellent staff at the Edinburgh Sick Kids for putting her back together again!

So get ready for about 3 months at once.....

Christmas - hectic and busy but good fun. Spent Christmas Day with my parents and then went to Claire's parents.

Rebecca's Birthday - yep, 1 already. Wow. I feel sorry for her having a birthday in-between Christmas and New Year. I was thinking about having a celebration of her "Half Birthday" (Trademark pending, honest) in June. I might buy her presents then so that she has something to look forward to as oppose to getting all her years-worth of presents in late December.

Walking - yay - Rebecca can walk. Boo - she can also climb stairs.

Wow, I think that is it - I might post some of Rebecca's Birthday photos when I get 5 minutes.....

The youngest children were sponsored to wear their pyjamas to nursery. Here is Rebecca in her PJs. Thanks very, very much to all who sponsored her (we raised over £150!).

Watch Children In Need at about 10:30 PM and you can see the nursery hand the cheque over.

All that nappy-filling has led to an amazing display of nappy rash. I have never seen skin that is almost fluorescent in colour before. Rebecca is now quite scared of the cotton wool that we use to wipe her down when it is changing time!

Let's hope that it clears up soon!
