One of the fish in the Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, used to have an odd growth on one of its eyes which certainly made it look a little weird but, as the signs explained, it was a harmless growth.
Obviously someone decided that the museum had enough money to pay for the fish to have cosmetic surgery to make it appear more 'consumer friendly'. Story here.
It says a lot about our lives if we can't bear to see a natural, harmless difference in a person or animal without wanting to make it 'normal' again.
