I saw this quote in the paper today:
Outgoing council leader Donald Anderson said: "In more than seven years as leader of the council I have witnessed many positive steps in improving public transport in the Capital. "
Is he forgetting the increasing air pollution, the £40 million spent on the plans for trams (plans note, not actually putting trams on the streets yet), the appalling state of Edinburgh roads and of course the mess that was the congestion charging debate - that had an outer cordon that the Scottish Executive told them to drop before taking to public consultation as it would be seen as simply a way of making money and not solving any traffic problems? That little bit of fun cost £9.1 million just for us to say NO!
There have been other "genius ideas", far too many to mention in fact. So, now think again about the quote, especially the " witnessed many positive steps in improving public transport in the Capital. "
He may have done, but did he not notice the appalling decisions that outnumbered the good ones?
