As you can see from a post I made a few days ago, I was trying to cut down the amount of tea that I have been drinking and instead drink water with all the benefits that is supposed to bring.

Well, now some helpful sole (European Journal of Clinical Nutrition) has published a report (covered here) explaining how tea is actually better for you than water. Great. No really, thanks for that.

I'm off for a beer then. :-) At least I know that is bad for you....

Reading this has cheered me considerably, I'm having a smug chortle as I sip my cuppa. I hope this means you're going to drop the holier than thou act with your decaff earl grey of an afternoon?!

Beer used to be the general drink of the populace mainly because pure drinking water was hard to get hold of.

Now we spend millions of pounds and tons of fuel transporting bottles of water when we have perfectly good taps available which end up costing more and more because of leaks and lack of rainfall.

Now, if we combined these ideas into serving beer from the taps in our houses then that would no doubt remove any objections to higher "water" rates.
