Martin had got me thinking about the amount of caffeine that I was drinking during a typical day; my conclusion was far too much! I used to drink about 6-8 large cups of tea a day and a couple of cans of diet coke a day.
I have reduced that dramatically and I drink a lot more water now and I sleep far better at night and feel far more alert - especially in an afternoon.
During this, I happened to come across a website that details the caffeine content of well known drinks. I note that tea has about 7.5mg/oz of caffeine. What the hell is Sky Rocket Caffeinated Syrup - it has 100?!!!! That must be a real smack in the mouth in the morning!
[Update] While looking for one of the links in this article, I came across this. Effervescent caffeine tablets to add to drinks that don't have enough caffeine in their own right. 100mg per tablet!
